Can someone please inform me what are the major mode of transportation in Brazil?

What are the mostly use transportation vehicles in the metropolitan cities of Brazil?

Well, depends in which region of Brazil you are talking about. In the major cities, you can use buses, subway, cabs... but as our traffic is terrible this kind of transportation can take too much of your time, so I suggest you to get a car, it can be a small one, or what we call popular models. They are cheaper and easier to park, and takes you faster to your destiny.

Brazil transportation - Car hire

It is generally accepted that tourists should not hire cars in Brazil unless they know what they're doing! Road safety in Brazil is not the best in the world, and the standard of driving here leaves a lot to be desired. However, there are a number of car hire agencies operating in Brazil, so if you want to rent a car here it is feasible. But, do travel/drive with a good map and plenty of water.

In cities use a cab. Security is not good in Rio or Sao Paolo. In towns you can use a scooter or a cab.
