Get married first then your residency and work permission should be easy. Don't expect USA salaries though.
How will you deal with the language issue?

I also would like to learn a new language such as spanish, does anyone know a good program or website that would teach this quick and easy?
I know my post doesn't have anything to do with this forums subject, but it might help some of the people who want to learn a new language.
I moved to South America last year and I love everything about this beautiful country. The only thing I had trouble with is speaking Spanish. I knew how to say a few things but I was no where near fluent. Before I moved I lived in Oregon, while I was there I happened to see a commercial on the television for Rosetta Stone. It's a great way to learn a foreign language. It's so easy and you can practice in any spare time you have. I'm still not fluent but I can carry on conversations with my new friends. Rosetta Stone helped me experience the culture and tradition just by learning Spanish.
If anyone is interested in learning a new language Rosetta Stone has 30 languages to pick from.
Did you know that Spanish isn't the only language in South America? In fact, in Brazil... the country this forum is about... Spanish isn't the official or usual language spoken. I think you just moved to South America in your dreams.

We talking about portuguese by any chance? that´s the language spoken in Brazil. A little like Spanish, but also very different.

In that case, you could learn both Prtuguese and Spanish and you will well have an upper hand. But as Ed has pointed out, why not get married first? That will easen the relocation process.
I agree, you can get language help online. In this case, if you need to learn everything about Portuguese, you can follow the link below.
It has basically all you need in a foreign language.
Working in Brazil would be great. Give me an opportunity worth taking and I am there. I have never had the opportunity to be an expatriate before, maybe this would be a great place to start, and just the perfect time in which to begin.

Now that the country is receiving such astounding world recognition, though it really did not even need anymore, Brazil is simply a magical place for any expat to be able to fully enjoy.
I think Brazil is one of the best place people should consider on moving. With all those beautiful scenery all over and the very rich traditions and culture, not to mention the warm and beautiful out there. I just wish that I can also be able to visit the said beautiful country. If only I have the time and the money, hahaha. Good luck to all of us. Keep those smiles!
