The Pousada Rancho Fundo is a new pension in Villas do Abrantes a suburb from Salvador da Bahia / Brazil. Our pension is located close to the International Airport (12km). Ideal to discover Bahias beaches and citys. Right at the beginning of the “Linha Verde” with its fantastic Coconutbeaches. If stopover Salvador, discovery of the baian natur, or just to leave the winter behind and enjoy the brazilian summer.Enjoy our beautiful atmosphere.

I will be in Salvador on the 4th of february for several days. How far away are you from Itapua ? Is your location North of the airport or closer to Itapua? What is your best rate for 2people? Thank You Bill

Nadi have a point there. Do you have guarantee that your offer or business is legitimate and registered. I suggest that you post here your response Markus. Well my niece is quite interested when he heard about your post in this forum, so please post a reply post here. Thanks a bunch.

This pousada is too far out of the city of Salvador to be convenient for touring.
Touring takes different aspects for different people. Distance to most people, one of them being myself, should be no issue considering that touring is in itself adventure. That is why most people prefer to use the train while traveling to a place, the speed notwithstanding. I do not therefore think that distance from the city should be any hinderance; unless of course your vacation has nothing to do with mobility. I think the best people to consult over legitimacy are the Brazilians themselves.

Why bother o such websites when you can contact legitimate travel agencies. How to know if they are legitimate? Then verify the establishment and its license to operate.. i always to that checking before i do some deals on travel agencies, i make sure that they are for real and not just there to sweep your wallet away and left you nothing but your 1x1 picture. hehe, just kidding.. Smile..

Well i have to agree with what Kira have posted, i do not want to complicate things up by such ideas. I think i just have to deal with legitimate travel agencies. Well ofcourse i would have to check on the legitimacy of the agency first before i settle on to transactions with them.I just hope that there are ways to make my questions addressed and answered correctly when i do some.

Yes legitimate and licensed travel agencies might provide you some feel of the place that you are going to. But if you really want to experience the totality of a place then all you need is a plane ticket some cash and some information of your destination. Locals are always accommodating to tourists, someone would always help you and if there's no one to help you then hire someone, Pretty Simple aye! That's the real tour.
Yes i agree, but then again you are a tourist, a new in town, that makes you vulnerable on bad stuffs that might happen.. like theft..But the idea of hiring someone to do the job, i think it is ok, but not all good all the time..
I still have to go with Kira's advice..
Well hoping for more response over the matter and more ideas would be great.

Brazil is simply like a heaven on earth, though it can be a tough place to live, for some. It is still, simply awesome and elegant.
I agree that Brazil is an amazing place to visit and even to live there! Like all place, though, you must be careful. It´s the same in Miami and New York, just take care of yourself. Hang on to your camera and hide you wallet.
99% of the people are great, it´s the 1% that ruins it for all.
Comment #15 Eve (63.176.159.240) - 12/03/09 20:03
Surely the case in many a place in the world, it is the one percent that causes all of the ruckus.
Comment #16 Jessa (63.176.159.46) - 12/07/09 22:58
Yes, have to agree with that. Most of the time the negative side is the one that wins over the positive side. If only people would look on the bright side. But anyway, i think that every country has it flaws and no matter how hard it is to take, we need to watch over our back and on our 'belongings' to make sure that everything are safe.
Be safe..
Comment #17 Eve (63.176.159.45) - 12/15/09 18:49
Surely, safety should be the first outlet to be explored by anyone that is interested in doing things in the correct way.
Comment #18 Joacsa (63.176.159.113) - 12/28/09 15:18
Kira is right! We have to look out for our safety and security when travelling. Just being a tourist in some areas is dangerous as they are vulnerable prey for thugs. I agree that we have to know where we are going and travel in groups when we can.
Comment #19 Rica (63.176.159.236) - 01/18/10 09:16
To be able to be safe in a foreign country seems to be hard considering that you are not yet familiar with the stuffs around. I think the best thing to do is to first acquaint your self with the place, know the people living in the community and know the danger spots and eventually avoid them. Sometimes initiative and commonsense is all that we need to be safe at all times.
Comment #20 controversy (63.176.159.129) - 02/11/10 20:01
Safety stems from the information a lot of the time. We need to be informed about what is the going and the coming of many things, especially when it is that we are in a foreign place.
