Arne, I have visited Brasil twice recently but only travelled around the state of RJ (Rio). I am considering moving to Brasil and after doing a bit of research about Curitiba it may be suitable to me. At the very least I plan on visiting there on my next journey to Brasil. I am Canadian and certainly appreciate the year round summer of Brasil.I am interested in either working or starting a business in Brasil. So far I only speak English so the only possibility of a job, as far as I can tell, would be to teach English. I plan on taking Portuguese classes but obviously this takes considerable time and effort. I have Brasilian friends in Rio but they are so eager to practice speaking English with me that I have learned very little Portuguese from them - so Portuguese tutoring will be necessary. Any information I can get about business opportunities or teaching English in Curitiba would be greatly appreciated.

I have known Brazil through my parents. They talk a lot about it, they talk about their travels and stays in that beautiful country. How I wish I can go there. Is there someone who can tell me the requirements how can I go to Brazil? What visa is needed and what are the other things that must be compiled and follow. Thanks.

The website for the Brazilian Consul in New York should give you a pretty good idea.I think they have a list of which countries need visas or not. You need to full out the application, show your ticket going to and out of Brazil, tell them where you are staying and why you are going. You might need to show you can support your self. I did that by showing them a credit card. Pay the fee and that's it.
