I'm getting ready for a whirlwind tour of South America. Where are the places in Copacabana Beach that Americans hang out?

Hi,

Copacabana is one of the reasons why people fall in love at first sight with Rio. The Princess of the Sea is one of the best areas for you to stay, with a higher concentration of hotels than any other neighborhood in town. Like Ipanema and Leblon, Copacabana and Leme share the same beach. This is where Rio's New Year's Celebrations happen, attracting 2 million people every year.

The name Copacabana has a Bolivian origin. Historians trace it to a XVII century image of Our Virgin Lady of Copacabana, brought by the Portuguese from a small village around distant Lake Titicaca. It was installed in a chapel that would later be demolished for the construction of Forte de Copacabana. more >>http://www.worldmostbeautifulbeaches.com/Brazil-Beaches-Copacabana-Travel-Information.htm

Depends...if you are WILD....go to HELP, Balcony BAr, MABBS Restruant.....there is where you will find what most "whirlwind" travelers are looking for in Rio.

All you have to do is smile and set there. If you want something else...I can't help you.

There are plenty of places to eat, you will likely not find the food real appealing but the beer is always good.

WATCH YOUR WALLET...say on well lit roads...when in Rome..do like a Roman. HAVE FUN!!!!
